PNM Devotional
INSPIRATION & ENCOURAGEMENT FOR EACH DAY OF UTC PANHELLENIC RECRUITMENT
Day 6: A Bigger Sisterhood
Why did you decide to join a sorority? Are you seeking to belong to something bigger than yourself? We’re created for community, so it’s natural to want to be around people who care about us. Your sorority will provide a place to form lifelong friendships. You may have already started some of those deep relationships with your Pi Chi or women in your group.
Regardless of your reasons to go Greek, one thing remains true – there is still a sisterhood that’s larger than any one sorority, or all of Panhellenic, and you are invited to be a part of it!
Read John 1:12-13--
“Yet to all who received Him (Jesus), [to all who put their trust in Him] He gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, not of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”
Ask
Who has the right to become a child of God?
What does it mean to be a child of God?
What relationship do children of God have to each other?
Those who have made the decision to trust in Jesus for a relationship with God are part of a huge family! We are “sisters in Christ”!
What is the point of looking at these verses? How do they apply to you today?
Pray
Ask God to make it clear to you if and when you made a decision to trust Jesus and become God’s child. Thank Him for this relationship if you have.
If you’re uncertain about whether you have made this decision, ask yourself--Do you want to place your trust in Jesus now?
Think About It
Take some time to pray and ask God to lead you.
Tell a trusted friend how you are feeling, and seek out Greek Cru or another campus ministry to come alongside you in your spiritual journey.
From the Greek Cru staff
We’re glad you’re here!
We’re Savannah & Lauren, some of the Greek Cru staff at UTC. Recruitment Week will be one of fun and excitement, and probably some anxiety as well. Our hope is to encourage you as you participate in recruitment and as you transition to college. Greek Cru exists as a spiritual resource for you in the Greek system at UTC and we hope we can connect with you!
No matter what you currently think about God or Jesus, we pray this devotional helps as recruitment can bring up questions or doubts about purpose, significance, and a sense of security in uncertain times.
You may not be able to do the devotions every day, but do what you can—answer questions, read, think, and pray. And feel free to reach out to process more if you’d like.
