INSPIRATION & ENCOURAGEMENT FOR EACH DAY OF UTC PANHELLENIC RECRUITMENT
Day 4: Eternal Perspective
Do you have direction or peace about what chapter you’re leaning towards? Why or Why not? How can you know where you are supposed to be? You may be feeling overwhelmed, asking, “Where do I fit in? Who really wants me?” or even “Where can God use me?”
These are good questions to be asking! However, these questions will cause anxiety and confusion if we don’t keep it in perspective. The Bible encourages us to do all things with an “eternal perspective” and that can really take the pressure off!
Read 2 Corinthians 4:18--
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Read Colossians 3:1-2--
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Read Ephesians 2:8-10--
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his work- manship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ask
What things are “seen” and temporary in your life and what things are “unseen” and eternal?
God and His love for His children are eternal and will last forever!
Pray
Tell God what you are thinking and feeling. Ask Him to comfort you and guide you through this process. Ask Him to calm your anxiety by giving you an eternal perspective on life.
Think About It
Sororities are wonderful, but eternity with Jesus is far more exciting, worthwhile and meaningful. The sorority you end up in could never change His love or His plan for you! Keep it in perspective!
From the Greek Cru staff
We’re glad you’re here!
We’re Savannah & Lauren, some of the Greek Cru staff at UTC. Recruitment Week will be one of fun and excitement, and probably some anxiety as well. Our hope is to encourage you as you participate in recruitment and as you transition to college. Greek Cru exists as a spiritual resource for you in the Greek system at UTC and we hope we can connect with you!
No matter what you currently think about God or Jesus, we pray this devotional helps as recruitment can bring up questions or doubts about purpose, significance, and a sense of security in uncertain times.
You may not be able to do the devotions every day, but do what you can—answer questions, read, think, and pray. And feel free to reach out to process more if you’d like.
